Teaching Artist Institute
As a community focused project, this client wanted to create a resident artist program. The resulting project would benefit the local community and inspire the next generation to see art as a way of developing human connections and placemaking. In partnership with the Neighborhood Design Center, we evaluated existing site opportunities and constraints in collaboration with local officials. Based on these interactions, we were able to create affordable housing for artists, spaces for the community to come and learn art in its different forms, including the culinary arts. At this point, the client has everything they need to progress their community project and raise the funding needed. We look forward to this project coming to its completion.
Haven Gastro Park
This Connecticut based project was a fun adventure. At the time the client approached us for this new site development, they already had a food truck designed by us. They had a clear vision of what they wanted along with their anticipated vibe they were going for. However, they did not know where or how to begin. We were able to be a partner with them to determine regulatory compliance, financial considerations, strategic planning and the long-term vision. Intersection Eatery Food Hall
With the trend of food halls gaining traction, this client reached out to our team all the way from Canada. As a real estate developer, the client was focused on gaining the most bang for his buck with the allotted square footage in his existing space. With profit being at the forefront of the client's mind, we formulated numerous iterations of spatial design and developed efficient flow paths for each foodservice operator.
Sapphire Corpus Christi Beach Hotel Restaurant & Bar
When this client from Texas approached us for a new beach hotel restaurant and bar, he was not aware of what was involved in this type of project. Whether it was the Architecture, Site Engineering, heavy MEP Engineering or extensive Foodservice Design, he was totally green to the design and construction industry. As the Foodservice Design Consultant on the project, we were able to guide the client through how his menu would be shaped, where would he source food, how it would be delivered, how food would travel through the facility, how the food and beverage spaces would communicate to other spaces in the building, and many other topics. With these types of conversations, the client entrusted us provide third party reviews on the Architectural, Structural, and MEP drawings to ensure complete coordination between all design disciplines. This client was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed working with them so closely to develop a successful project.
Pierogi Rulez Food Trailer
Pierogi Rulez was an amazing client. The owner's experience as a chef truly made this project even more special. With such a special project, there were large hurdles, mainly coming from the local Health Department. Even though the client had local knowledge, the local health officials needed someone that would speak "their language" on food safety and risk factors associated with the design of food dispensing facilities. Since our principal is both a Chef & Architect, we were able to maneuver the health official's stringent requests which went beyond anything that was available in written form online. After numerous phone calls with the health officials and collaborating with the client, we were able to receive all of the approvals needed. This trailer is now selling food in the Orange County, California area. If you want to follow and support their local food options, their Instagram page is in this link.
Paunchy Elephant Beverage Processing Plant
Our client for this project approached us because they have never opened a manufacturing facility before in Washington State. Their existing beverage operation was small and could not keep up with the demand from their customers. We worked hard to understand the unique struggles that this growing operator was experiencing. This allowed us to find the best way help the client learn about not just the local requirements, but also the state requirements for a beverage processing facility. We were a thinking partner and specialist to the client to expedite their process for continued business growth.
